Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for Casimir.
